Carrot cake is awesome! And a must to have here in Sweden.
But always getting one in one of the many nice cafés can be quite expensive - especially here in Lund or probably in whole Sweden.
But here is the solution: DIY - and get a really delicious cake - even better than the really great one at Coffee Point here in Lund ;-)

Brunius – a great café in the city center!
Brunius is a cosy, small café near Mårtenstorget which you hardly notice when passing by. That is why we present it – you should no longer overlook it as it is worth a try!

The café is housed in an authentic brick house, and the rustic brick walls from the outside are also inside the café which contributes to a special atmosphere. The café is named Brunius after the owner and builder of the house, who was a professor and architect of the cathedral, as Jessica told us. She is the owner of the café and runs it since 1999. The café offers a variety of hot drinks and some small snacks, such as baguettes and ciabattas with your choice of topping, pancakes, waffles, cakes and homemade cookies. And the best: it tastes good and the prices are really reasonable.

Countdown to Valborg/Sista April - spring celebration
To all the international students who spend their summer semester here in Lund: congratulations you definitely chose the right time to be here. To all the Swedes: tack så mycket for being as you are and for your great student traditions. This spring will be awesome! So time to get psyched and start the countdown to the last of April!

As with many Swedish holidays, it’s really hard to tell the original reason behind it: Maybe a Christian tradition? Or maybe it is related to the current amount of sunshine? It is very unclear, and even the Swedes seem to have a pretty fuzzy understanding of the story behind Valborg (or Sista April as students call it in Lund to express their distinction from the ‘rivals’ in Uppsala who call it Valborg).

Berlin

The capital of Germany has a lot to offer with its famous landmarks such as the Reichstag, the Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie and what’s left of the Berlin Wall. But it is also known for its vibrant night life. Here you can find everything from super posh to underground clubs with a run – down charme. Compared to Sweden, Berlin is a paradise for those who like to go eating out in a restaurant or have a cocktail night. The whole bill there will be what you pay for a starter in Sweden ;).
